WBK: SDSU Unveils Summit League Schedule

BROOKINGS, S.D.—The five-time defending Summit League regular-season champion South Dakota State women’s basketball team announced today its 2014-15 Summit League schedule.

As part of the 16-game Summit League schedule, SDSU plays eight home-and-home contests with the return of Oral Roberts. Three of the eight home Summit League contests fall on a Saturday at Frost Arena, including against rivals North Dakota State (Jan. 31) and South Dakota (Feb. 21).

South Dakota State’s full schedule, which will include television broadcast information, is expected to be available in early September. Nonconference dates and times are also subject to change, and fans are encouraged to continue checking GoJacks.com for updates.

The Jackrabbits open their Summit League schedule hosting Denver Jan. 2 in the friendly confines of Frost Arena where they have won their last 10 consecutive league home games, dating to the 2012-13 season. The Jacks led The Summit League in home attendance and ranked in the top 100 in the nation last year, averaging more than 2,000 fans per game.
SDSU has a three-game road swing that pits it against two of three postseason qualifiers. The Jacks are at rival North Dakota State Jan. 4, Women’s Basketball Invitational qualifier Fort Wayne Jan. 9 and WNIT participant IUPUI Jan. 11.
The Jackrabbits host Omaha Jan. 15 and then return to the road for a game against in-state rival South Dakota Jan. 17 and a meeting with Western Illinois Jan. 21.
South Dakota State plays six of its last nine Summit League games at home, including Oral Roberts for the first time since 2011-12 Jan. 29, North Dakota State Jan. 31 and Fort Wayne Feb. 8.
The Jacks last road trip includes stops at Denver (Feb. 11), Oral Roberts (Feb. 13) and Omaha (Feb. 18).
SDSU’s final homestand features games vs. South Dakota (Feb. 21), Western Illinois (Feb. 26) and the season finale vs. IUPUI (Feb. 28).
The Summit League Championship will be held Saturday through Tuesday, March 7-10, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.
Basketball season ticket packages for all home men’s and women’s basketball games in Frost Arena are now available for $350 plus a donation to the Jackrabbit Club. Orders are accepted in person or over the phone weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone orders can be processed by calling 1-866-GO JACKS or online at  JackrabbitTickets.com.
