WBK: Feeney Named NSIC Player Of The Week
BURNSVILLE, MN -

Alex Feeney's consistent play at a high level earned her Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week honors in a release by the conference on Monday morning.  This is Feeney's first player of the week honor this season after she was named NSIC south division preseason player of the year.

Alex Feeney has strung together four double-doubles in as many games.  Feeney's greatest performance came on Saturday evening when she poured in 20 first-half points to finish with a season-high 26 points against Minot State.  Feeney entered intermission without having missed a shot; she was 5-5 from the field, 4-4 from three, and 4-4 from the free throw line.  She finished the night 9-10 from the floor and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The senior forward averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds in her tremendous week on the hardwood. Feeney's double-double on Saturday was her sixth of the season and 20th of her career.

Feeney helped the Vikings snap a four-game road losing streak at No. 22 Wayne State when she scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.  The Bismarck, N.D. native continued her double-double streak on Friday with a 20 point, 11 rebound performance in a victory over U-Mary.

In NSIC contests, Feeney is shooting 57.5 percent from three assisted by a 7-11 performance this past week.  Feeney now ranks seventh in conference scoring (16.7 ppg) and rebounding (8.3 rpg).

The Vikings now take to the road to avenge their only losses of the year beginning with Concordia-St. Paul on Friday Jan. 25 at 6 p.m.
