The two Watertown teens involved in a December homicide in northwest Sioux Falls have pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
19-year-old Brian Anderson and 18-year-old Trevor Kruthoff both entered guilty pleas Tuesday morning.
Anderson and Kruthoff admitted to breaking into 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau’s home on December 2, 2013 in an attempt to rob LeBeau. When LeBeau’s father, Jason, came home, Anderson and Kruthoff started fighting with the pair and fired the 9 millimeter handgun they brought along at both men.
“Jason came home and I didn’t know what to do,” Anderson said Tuesday morning during his plea hearing. “We were scared and I yelled, ‘Shoot him.’”
Kruthoff admits he is the one who pulled the trigger.
Jordan LeBeau died from the injuries and Jason LeBeau was injured.
Anderson and Kruthoff will face a maximum of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
