A 23-year-old Watertown man died in a crash after failing to stop at a stop sign on Thursday afternoon.
Jacob Burke was driving on Highway 46 about 16 miles east of Wagner. He failed to stop at a stop sign and hit another vehicle that was going south on Highway 37.
Burke wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from his 2008 Dodge 3500. He died at the scene.
The other driver, 51-year-old David Hecht, was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a Tyndall hospital.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
