Republican U.S. Senate candidate Annette Bosworth turned herself in on a warrant out of Hughes County shortly before noon Wednesday.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office confirms that they called Bosworth to serve the warrant and she cooperated with authorities and turned herself in on a personal recognizance bond.
Bosworth confirms that she has been charged with six counts of perjury and six counts of offering a false or forged instrument for filing but did not have any other comment at this point.
Concerns were raised during her campaign that she had submitted nominating petitions where she was listed as the petition circulator but was allegedly not in the country at the time the petition was circulated.
The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office plans to issue a press release later.
