If you've got a little leaguer in the house this summer, there's something you should know.
While doctors say its common to find yourself treating aches and pains a little more often these days, some injuries are more serious than others. Something known as "Little Leaguer's Elbow" can cause more problems as the child gets older.
Little Leaguer elbow is a painful overuse injury and causes repeated stress on the growth plate on the inside of the elbow. It's most commonly seen in players who are 8 to 15 years old.
Pitchers and catchers are most susceptible, but no position is immune. Leaving it untreated could lead to fractures around the elbow, bone spurs or even early arthritis.
