Voters Say They Cast Ballots Out Of Duty

Voters Say They Cast Ballots Out Of Duty
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Voters casting ballots in the South Dakota primaries on Tuesday say they go to the polls out of duty.

Fifty-four-year-old Chuck Illg of Sioux Falls says there are millions of soldiers who died in service to their country, and they gave their lives so he'd have that right.

Sixty-six-year-old Jim Lowe of Sioux Falls said he's voted regularly since he reached voting age.

The Republican says he's impressed with the field of Republican candidates looking to represent his District 11 in the state House. He wouldn't say who got his vote, but says Republicans in statewide and local races have done a great job recruiting qualified people into politics.

South Dakotans are choosing a Democratic nominee for the U.S. House and deciding 30 state Legislature primary contests.
