Voters in Watertown have given overwhelming approval to a $24 million multipurpose center. The measure passed on Tuesday with 73 percent of the vote.
The City Council approved the center earlier, but a petition drive brought the matter to a public vote.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held next spring. The facility will be paid for with city sales tax revenue.
