The Washington Pavilion hosted a community-wide volunteer fair today. 45 non-profits from the area were on hand to talk about its needs and upcoming events. There were hands-on events for people to do at the fair. Susan Kroger of the Helpline Center says that for non-profits to be successful, it needs the help of volunteers.
“Non-profits are absolutely dependent on volunteers for any number of things. Whether it's for programming needs, whether its office help or event help, volunteers are vital to non-profits,” Kroger said.
Kroger says fairs like todays provides the easy opportunity for people to see many non-profits in the area to get a better understanding of which ones fits them the most.
