It looks like the hail that fell in Vivian, South Dakota, will go into the record books.
Officials with the National Weather Service in Aberdeen say an announcement is expected at any time.
The nearly two pound stone, which measured 18-and-a-half inches around, is expected to officially become the largest hailstone ever recorded.
The massive hail fell Friday night, knocking out windshields and tearing holes through roofs.
