The University of South Dakota School of Medicine recently received a national honor.
U.S. News & World Report recognized it as one of the top schools for rural medicine. The magazine's "Best Graduate Schools 2015" guide ranks the medical school at number five, which is four spots higher than last year's number nine ranking.
University officials say this is the fifth year the school has made this list.
Top honors for rural medicine this year went to the University of Washington.
