United Airlines In Sioux Falls Outsourcing Workers

August 11, 2014, 8:45 PM by Angela Kennecke

30 United Airline employees in Sioux Falls will either be able to transfer to another city, apply for jobs under a new company, or be laid off.

United has outsourced its ground handling positions at the Sioux Falls airport to Envoy Air Inc., a subsidiary of American Airlines.

Envoy will pay employees at lower rate.  It's a growing trend among airlines at airports across the country.

The change goes into effect October 1.  United's schedule and fares out of Sioux Falls will remain the same.
