Authorities are investigating the crash of an ulltralight plane near Vermillion that killed the pilot.
Police say the plane went down in a corn field west of the Vermillion airport about 4:15 p.m. Friday.
There were no passengers on the plane. The pilot has not been identified.
Authorities say a fire caused by the crash burned about two acres of corn before it was contained by fire fighters.
