Two Huron police officers are getting some time off to recover after they were injured while chasing a suspect on foot.
Police Chief Gary Will Jr. says that officers responded to call on possible underage drinking, but a 16-year-old boy tried to escape on foot. While chasing the boy and arresting him, Capt. Dan Kight sustained a foot injury and Officer Sam Freng injured a leg.
Will says the two officers will be off work for several weeks, so he's had to adjust the schedules of other officers to help cover a night shift.
The boy has been charged with underage consumption of alcohol, refusing to obey the lawful order of an officer, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer.
