Two Die In Crash Near Grand River Casino
MOBRIDGE, SD -

Two people are dead after a crash on Highway 12 at the Grand River Casino entrance on Saturday.

71-year-old Kaisagarr Tavia-Fiatoa was exiting the parking lot of the casino in a GMC Sierra onto Highway 12 heading west. Tavia-Fiatoa went into the path of 73-year-old Edward Schweitzer who was driving a Chevy Pickup. The vehicles collided sending the Sierra into a ditch. The Pickup went into a ditch, through a fence before stopping in a pasture.

Tavia-Fiatoa and his passenger, 61-year-old Alma Faith Tavia-Fiatoa, were not wearing their seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle. Both died at the scene.

Schweitzer was wearing a seatbelt and received serious injuries. He was taken to a Mobridge hospital.

No further information is available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
