Sioux Falls police say the man killed in a shooting on Monday was the target of a robbery.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau. He was shot and killed; his 48-year-old father was also shot and is in the hospital.
Authorities say two men have been charged in connection with the crime.
20-year-olds Kevin Rice and Douglas Scholten were taken into custody Tuesday in Dell Rapids and charged with robbery, burglary and assault.
Officer Sam Clemens says Rice and Scholten were involved in the crime, but police don't believe they were inside the home at the time of the shooting. Clemens says while police haven't arrested the suspected shooter or shooters, officers don't believe the public is at risk because it appears LeBeau was targeted.
During the search for Rice and Scholten on Tuesday, Dell Rapids students weren't allowed to leave St. Mary's school for much of the morning. Some students were also moved to a different part of the building to keep them safe.
