Two convenience stores in Sioux Falls were robbed in the same evening, but a suspect is in custody.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. Monday, June 2, Sioux Falls Police were dispatched to Pump n Pak, 1801 S. Western Ave., for an armed robbery. A white female armed with a knife reportedly entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. After she was given money, the perpetrator fled the store. She was described as wearing a yellow shirt with shorts, sunglasses and a hair band. Video surveillance showed her leaving the scene in a maroon four-door vehicle.
At approximately 10:33 p.m., an armed robbery was reported at HKV Liquor, 5512 W. 41st St. After being refused money, the perpetrator fled in a four-door maroon vehicle. An eyewitness gave a possible license plate of the vehicle and said it was seen headed west on 41st and turning north onto a side street. Based on that information, and similar descriptions given at both incidents, officers identified Jennifer Jean Mitch as a possible suspect.
Officers stopped a maroon 2002 Chevy Cavalier as it entered the 26th Street and Marion Road HyVee parking lot. The driver was identified as Mitch and was found with items linked to both robberies. Mitch was arrested without incident and lodged in the Minnehaha County Jail for two counts of armed robbery. No injuries were reported.
