TSA Offers Abbreviated Search Process

The Transportation Security Administration is bringing an abbreviated search process to both the Sioux Falls and Rapid City airport. But in order to take advantage of the offer, passengers are required to pre-register with the TSA. There is also a nonrefundable $85 fee.

For more information, the TSA outlines the Pre-Check application process on its website

A passenger approved into the Pre-Check program does not need to take off his or her shoes, jacket or belt. Gels and liquids that are currently approved do not need to leave a carry-on. Laptops can also remain in its case.

Interested passengers are required to file an application and visit the Pre-Check enrollment center. In Sioux Falls, the UES Center is located at 2221 W Russell Street. In Rapid City, 1727 W. Main Street.
