The April ice storm destroyed thousands of trees across the Sioux Falls area. That's why the Helpline Center has teamed up with KELOLAND News, the Sioux Empire United Way and Argus Leader Media to "Tree the Town."
And the big event is on Saturday in conjunction with "Make a Difference Day."
Hundreds of volunteers will plant more than 1,000 trees in yards and at local non-profits to replace those lost in the storm.
The Helpline Center says they have enough volunteers to plant every tree requested. But, several non-profits will also be at the Washington Pavilion that day for different "Make a Difference Day" events.
You can learn more about "Make a Difference Day," at the Helpline's website.
