The City Of Rapid City is announcing that on Tuesday, October 22, curbside tree and debris removal will begin.
Crews will make three passes through the city, with the first pass taking approximately three weeks, then moving to the next two passes.
The curbside pick-up is only for those in the city limits.
The main thoroughfares will be the starting point for the clean-up as they are areas where parked vehicles will not be a problem. This will give residents enough time to move the tree and debris onto public right of ways (between the sidewalk and street).
Crews can only remove debris within the public right of way. Residents are asked to move all tree branches as close to the street as possible. If there is not an area between the sidewalk and street, place debris on the sidewalk only when crews will be in your area.
Do not place debris in alleys. Do not overcrowd corners with debris. Consolidate branch piles with large branches cut to lengths of no longer than six feet. Do not park in front of branch piles when crews are in your area. When crews do cut trees and branches, they will be left for another team to clean them up.
