Treats In Honor Of 9/11

September 11, 2012, 8:13 PM by Peggy Moyer

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

In honor of the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, local firemen and law enforcement officers are thanked with treats.

Volunteers from Sioux Falls' AARP and the South Dakota Retired Teachers Association baked and packaged up home-made treats to deliver to local fire stations and law enforcement offices.

“In our own little way here in Sioux Falls, we're saying it's more than just another day.  That we're taking time out to say thank you and to give people the recognition for the job they do here in Sioux Falls every single day,” AARP Sioux Falls chapter president Bob Stevens said.

This is the second year the two groups have organized and delivered bake goods on the 9/11 anniversary.
