Trailer Crash Changes Madison Family

Trailer Crash Changes Madison Family

The summer season is just around the corner and many in KELOLAND will be hitting the roads towing boats and trailers. But do you know how to properly hook one up? Do it wrong and it could change lives. Roger Hopf's family dynamic changed in a split second back in 2010 when a trailer carrying a boat came loose and crashed into his truck cab killing his wife.

"It was just like things were happening, setting this whole tragedy up putting us in the right place at the right time. You think about that all the time. Should I have done something different? If I had kissed her twice before we left the house. That's all it would have taken, another split second. Things would have been changed," Hopf said.

The boat that hit his truck was back heavy causing the tongue to lift up off the hitch. Hear more from Hopf in tonight's EYE on KELOLAND.
