A tip from a community meeting leads to an arrest of a sex offender.
29-year-old Jacob Wilson was arrested by the Pennington County Sheriff's Office for failing to properly notify authorities of an address change.
The Sheriff's Office received a tip about Wilson at a community meeting regarding the release of another sex offender, Michael Pigney.
Authorities investigated and it was determined that Wilson was living at an address that did not match his registered address. A sex offender is required by law to notify authorities of a change in address or location within three business days.
The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the community for being vigilant and passing on the necessary information.
