It is another above average day in KELOLAND. Highs for some areas were able to hit the nineties. Which isn't completely out of the norm this time of year.
The average date for the last 90 degree day of the season varies. Those that hit the mark the earliest include Brookings, Watertown, Chamberlain, Sioux Center, and Sioux Falls, all during the last week and a half in August.
Here's a list of those who average their average last ninety degree day in September. They include Marshall, Milbank, Aberdeen, Yankton. Pierre and Winner usually have the latest ninety with an average date of September 23.
As far as the latest we've seen ninety degrees in KELOLAND, records show we've seen temperatures that hot in October.
While we'll cool a little next week, expect above average temps to continue for at least the first half of the month.
