Thune Disappointed In FEMA's Response, Offers Alternatives

South Dakota Senator John Thune is disappointed with FEMA's decision, but says home and business owners can still get help.

Thune encourages property owners with damage to consider applying for Small Business Administration disaster assistance.

Up to $200,000 is available for accepted applicants to repair your home and up to $40,000 to replace personal property. Businesses can receive up to $2 million.

Eligible home and business owners can apply online. Disaster loan information and application forms are also available from SBA's Customer Service Center by contacting 800-659-2955, or disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. For more information about SBA's disaster assistance programs, visit their website.

The application deadline is Sept. 8.
