Three Running For Open Judges Seat
Magistrate Judge John Hinrichs | Commissioner John Pekas | Former Representative Marc Feinstein

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A former state lawmaker, a Minnehaha county commissioner and a Sioux Falls magistrate judge are all running for an open circuit judge seat in Sioux Falls.

Magistrate Judge John Hinrichs, Commissioner John Pekas and former Representative Marc Feinstein are all running for the open spot on the bench.

Residents in Minnehaha and Lincoln County will vote for one of the candidates in the June primary and then the top two will move onto the general election in November.

Circuit court judges are elected every eight years and handle more serious felony cases.

The candidates are looking to fill the spot left open by retiring circuit Judge Peter Lieberman.
