The Minnesota State Patrol says three people are dead and three others injured after a head-on crash on a highway between St. Peter and Mankato.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow says a Dodge Caliber crossed the centerline Sunday and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup. It happened on Highway 169. Authorities say the highway was dry when the car crossed the median and hit the truck.
Thirty-six-year-old Lindi Paul of St. Peter and her 5-year-old daughter, Emma Paul, were killed. They were in the Caliber, which Lindi Paul was driving.
Sixty-five-year-old Michael O'Boyle of Marion, S.D., also died. He was driving the pickup.
A four-year-old Minnesota girl in O'Boyle's pickup sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The other passengers - a woman and an 8-year-old boy - sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
