Pennington County authorities are releasing more details about a crash involving a school bus and an SUV on Thursday morning.
The sheriff's office says around 7:30 a.m., the SUV collided with the school bus and struck two kids near the intersection of Country Road and Elk Horn Lane in Rapid City.
Authorities say a seven-year-old girl and a ten-year-old boy from Knollwood Elementary were transported to a hospital by ambulance. One suffered critical injuries but is expected to live. The second suffered less serious injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 17-year-old boy, was also taken to a hospital for minor injuries. He's a student at Douglas High School.
Authorities say neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is now in the hands of the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
