Thieves Target Valves, Pipes From Men's Restrooms

October 1, 2012, 4:47 PM by Brady Mallory

Thieves Target Valves, Pipes From Men's Restrooms
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Someone is targeting urinal flushers in men's restrooms in Sioux Falls.

Police say valves and piping have been stolen from fast food restaurants all over the city.  Taco Bell and Wendy's on South Minnesota Avenue as well as Dairy Queen and Burger King on East 10th Street have been hit.  Police say suspects are likely selling the stolen parts.

There have been 12 such cases turned into the police so far.

"In one of the reports, a manager had talked to a plumber and the plumber said he had replaced 18 different valves.  There's probably more out there and there will be more reports trickling in," Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Clemens said.

Clemens says there is surveillance video that could help authorities find the suspects.
