EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -
It's been two weeks since the Broncos and Seahawks clinched the AFC and NFC championships. Two weeks for fans of the two teams to think and talk about a Super Bowl between two Western clubs. Today, the talk ends as Denver and Seattle are squaring off tonight in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., in the NFL Championship game.
Rightfully so, a lot of the talk has been about the weather. In short, the NFL has lucked out and the weather should be pretty good with a game-time temperature in the low 40's and little chance of precipitation. The forecast for the East Rutherford area tomorrow, however, calls for snow.
Record-wise each team enters the game with a mark of 15-3. The Seahawks advanced with a 23-17 win over the 49ers while the Broncos qualified for the title game with a 26-16 victory over the Patriots.
The game presents a classic matchup of a great offense, Denver's, against a great defense, Seattle's. And there can be no discussion about this game without mentioning Peyton Manning and the outstanding season the Denver quarterback has had as he set the NFL's single-season marks with 5,477 yards passing and 55 TD tosses.
Who will win and how good or bad will the commercials be? We'll find out tonight as the Broncos and Seahawks meet in Super Bowl 48.
