The Jackrabbit Men Come Up Short To IPFW

The Jackrabbit Men Come Up Short To IPFW
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Jackrabbits fell to the IPFW Mastodons 64-60.

The game was to determine who was going to face NDSU in the Men’s Summit League Championship Game.

The game started off fast for the Mastodons as they took the early lead. The Jackrabbits battled back, but the turnovers plagued SDSU, giving IPFW multiple scoring opportunities. The Jackrabbits turned the ball over ten times in the first half with the Mastodons getting 12 points off those turnovers. IPFW went into the half up 30-24 over SDSU. Keeping the Jackrabbits close was their 50 percent shooting from the field compared to just 38 percent for the Mastodons.

The Jacks came out on fire to start the second half, scoring a quick seven to take the lead with 17:54 left in the game. The Mastodons settled down and retook the lead. From there it was a back and forth battle between the two teams. IPFW held a small lead throughout the second half, but the Jackrabbits were able to stay within striking distance.

SDSU had a chance to tie it, but missed the open three.

The Mastodons will play the NDSU Bison on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
