Teams To Start Assessing Tornado, Flooding Damage Next Week

Preliminary assessments of storm damage to public infrastructure start on Monday.

Teams of federal, state and local officials will review damage from tornadoes and flooding between June 13 and June 20.  Representatives of FEMA, the State Office of Emergency Management and local governments will all take part.

Areas in 12 counties and one Indian reservation will be assessed.  It includes Butte, Clay, Corson, Dewey, Hanson, Jerauld, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Perkins, Turner, Union and Ziebach counties and the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

Field work is expected to be done by Wednesday, July 16.
