A fundraiser for the family of a Pierre woman killed in a crash set a national record.
31-year-old Casey Crane died last month when her car went Interstate 90 near Presho. She left behind two young boys.
The Taco Johns in Pierre, where she worked, donated half of Wednesday’s proceeds to a fund set up for those children.
The community responded with more than $14,500 worth of sales throughout the day. That's a new Taco Johns Franchise record.
When you take half of that and add other donations from the community, the fundraiser topped $10,000.
Store management says donations are still coming.
