A man shot several times by a Rapid City police officer after allegedly threatening officers with a butcher knife has been released from the hospital and taken to jail.
Twenty-year-old Elijah White Magpie faces numerous charges including attempted murder.
White Magpie had been in the hospital since the Feb. 21 incident that began when he allegedly threw a rock through a window at the city library. He initially had been listed in critical condition.
It was not immediately clear if White Magpie had an attorney. The attempted murder charge against him carries a maximum punishment of 25 years in prison upon conviction.
