Sunday Boredom Busters

Check out all the fancy rides on display for the Canton Area Car Show. The show runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Canton and includes live music, free inflatables and radio-controlled racing. Admission is $5, free for kids 14 and younger.

The South Dakota Peach Festival wraps up today at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls. The free festival is a benefit for Special Olympics South Dakota and features peaches from Georgia, live music, vendors, face painting and sack races.  Hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Get a taste of culture at New American Garden Market at the Hy Vee on East 10th Street in Sioux Falls. Vendors are selling their produce from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday morning through September. Proceeds will help refugee families from nine countries.

The Hartford Farmers Market runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hartford Building Center. The farmers market will be open every Sunday through October. The Hartford Building Center is located at 1001 North Oaks Avenue.

The Prairie Repertory Theatre presents the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  The performance is at 2 p.m. at the Brandon Valley Performing Arts Center.

The Sioux Falls Municipal Band performs two free concerts today. The first is at 3 p.m. at the Primrose Retirement Community on South Louise. That's followed by an 8 p.m. performance at Terrace Park.

Enjoy live music and wine during the Folk Off at Renner's Strawbale Winery. Local groups are competing for cash prizes and a chance to perform at next weekend's Sioux River Folk Festival.  Admission is $20. 

Join Feeding South Dakota for a night under the stars while watching the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 at Sioux Falls Stadium. Free Movie Night at the Ballpark begins at 8 p.m. You can watch the move from the stands or in the field.  Popcorn and soda will be available for purchase.

Movies playing at the Wells Fargo CineDome in the Washington Pavilion include Jersey Boys, Bears, D-Day: Normandy 1944, Great White Shark and Watermelon Magic.

New Hollywood releases playing at a theater near you include Hercules, And So It Goes, both rated PG-13 and Lucy and Wish I Was Here, both rated R.

History comes alive through stories and songs during Dakota Dames through the Decades. The free performance featuring South Dakota's women of history is at 7 p.m. in McKennan Park in Sioux Falls.
