Get in on the fun of Garretson's 125th Celebration. Today's events include a 10 a.m. community church service at the Garretson High School gymnasium followed by a community picnic at 11:30 a.m.; a Classic Car Show takes place on Main Street from noon to 3 p.m.; an Antique Tractor Pull is at 1 p.m. at Schuneman Equipment, a quilt and photo display is from 1-3 p.m. at the American Legion.
Garretson's Palisade Lutheran Church is hosting an ice cream social from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children. In addition to ice cream, the menu includes grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, salads and homemade pies.
Learn about South Dakota's ancient past at Archeology Awareness Days in Mitchell. Experts will demonstrate skills used by the first Americans including flint-knapping, hide tanning, archery and pottery making. You can also visit with archeologists from England's University of Exeter and Augustana College as they unearth artifacts at the Native American Village on the Shores of Lake Mitchell. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for students.
The Black Hills Roundup & Rodeo includes carnival rides downtown. The rodeo begins at 2 p.m. at the Roundup Grounds.
The Bare Bodkins Theatre Company presents the Shakespeare comedy All's Well that Ends Well. The performance is at 7 p.m. at the historic Queen Bee Mill in Falls Park. All tickets are free, but seating is limited. Tickets will be handed out starting at 6 p.m.
Southwest Minnesota artist Sharon Sandusky opens a display of paintings using heated wax at the Nobles County Art Center from 2-4 p.m. The art center is located at 407 12th Street in Worthington, MN.
The Sioux Falls Municipal Band performs two free concerts today. The first is at 3 p.m. at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. That's followed by an 8 p.m. performance at Terrace Park.
Sangria Sunday features live music and South Dakota wines at Strawbale Winery in Renner. The hours are from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $5 a carload.
