The winter season ends today at Great Bear Recreation Park with Snirt Fest 2014. Today's events include Snowmakers Hose Race at 12:30 pm; the Great Snirtball Fight at 1:30 pm; a Costume Contest at 2:30 pm; Pond Skimming at 3 pm and Zipfy Races at 4 pm. There's a $5 entry fee per event per person, with all proceeds going to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Great Bear's hours are from 9 am to 10 pm.
Dairyland Donkey Basketball is a fundraiser for the Chamberlain pre-school program, Treehouse Inc. The game is at 2 pm in the Chamberlain Armory. Tickets are $8.

The Friends of the Devereaux Library present the 1953 Marilyn Monroe comedy Gentlemen Prefer Blondes as part of the Nostalgia Night Film Series. The movie plays at 6:30 pm at the historic Elks Theatre in downtown Rapid City.

Soups & Sweets is a tasty fundraiser to update audio/visual equipment at Shalom Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. They'll ve serving from 11 am to 1:30 pm. The cost is a free will offering. Shalom Lutheran is located at 1000 Maple.
The group Maggie in the Meantime performs Celtic and Irish folk music at the Mitchell Area Community Theatre. The concert is at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10. The theatre is located at 7th & Main in Mitchell.
