Sioux Falls American Legion Post #15 is hosting a memorial honoring the four Army chaplains who gave their lives to save others during the sinking of a troop transport ship during World War II. The Four Chaplains Interfaith Memorial Service is at 3 pm at the Legion Post in Sioux Falls. The service is a tribute to the courage of the chaplains and the 672 men who lost their lives when their boat sank after being torpedoed by a German U-boat.
Hear "Grandma's Apron Strings: Stories from Our Pioneering Grandmothers" presented by Jane Green as part of Museum Activity Day at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre. The event begins at 3 pm and includes making bookmarks with ribbons, stickers, beads and bells. All bookmark supplies are provided and refreshments will be served.

The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo is underway in Rapid City. Events taking place at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center include leatherworks classes, a ranch horse competition, a western art show, a barnyard petting zoo and a bid-calling contest.
