SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls American Legion Post #15 is hosting a memorial honoring the four Army chaplains who gave their lives to save others during the sinking of a troop transport ship during World War II.  The Four Chaplains Interfaith Memorial Service is at 3 pm at the Legion Post in Sioux Falls.  The service is a tribute to the courage of the chaplains and the 672 men who lost their lives when their boat sank after being torpedoed by a German U-boat.

Hear "Grandma's Apron Strings: Stories from Our Pioneering Grandmothers" presented by Jane Green as part of Museum Activity Day at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre.  The event begins at 3 pm and includes making bookmarks with ribbons, stickers, beads and bells.  All bookmark supplies are provided and refreshments will be served.

Benson's Flea Market features antiques and collectibles on sale at the Expo Building of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.  Hours are from 11 am to 4 pm.  Admission is $2, free for kids 12 and under.

The 1935 Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers classic Top Hat is featured in the Nostalgia Night Film Series in Rapid City.  Show time is 6:30 pm in the downtown Elks Theatre.

Capitol Cinema presents The Book Thief at 7:30 pm at Aberdeen's Capitol Theatre.   Tickets are $8.

Motorcycles and ATV's will go full-throttle during the Lake Brandt Ice Races in Chester, SD.  Registration is at 10 am, practice is at 11 am, the races start at noon in front of the Shipwreck Bar & Grill.

The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo is underway in Rapid City.  Events taking place at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center include leatherworks classes, a ranch horse competition, a western art show, a barnyard petting zoo and a bid-calling contest.  The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo goes through February 9th.
