Sunday Boredom Busters

It's the final week of Christmas at the Western Mall.   The digital holiday light display set to music runs nightly from 5:30 to 9:30 through Wednesday.   Your donations will help Make-A-Wish South Dakota grant wishes to sick kids.

It's also the final week for  Grasslands Christmas, an outdoor holiday light display that's raising money for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.  Today's hours are from 5 to 10 pm at 2805 North Lyme Grass Avenue in Sioux Falls. The display runs through Wednesday.

Bundle up and enjoy holiday lights outdoors at Falls Park for Winter Wonderland.  The park will light up every night through January 5th.

The Aurora Model Train Display features an 8-by-20-foot Lionel train layout and a 4-by-8-foot layout for kids to operate.  The display goes from 1-7 pm today and Sunday at the Aurora Community Center.  Donations are welcome.

Deadwood's historic Adams House is elegantly decked out in Victorian finery during hourly Holiday Tours from noon to 4 pm.  Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children, free for members and kids 6 and younger.  The Adams House is located at 22 Van Buren Street in Deadwood.

Toss your Christmas tree for free at the city drop-off sites in Sioux Falls.  The eastside location is at 1015 East Chambers Street by the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.  The westside drop-off is at North Lyon Boulevard west of the the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.  The hours are from 9 am to 5 pm.   Make sure to remove all lights and ornaments, and no artificial trees.  The drop-off sites are open through January 19th.  They're closed New Year's Day.  Make sure to remove all lights and ornaments, and no artificial trees.

People from the country of Bhutan are hosting a New Year's Celebration at the Multi-Cultural Center in downtown Sioux Falls.  The gather includes a lunch from 10=11:45 am.  Cultural events follow from noon to 5 pm.  The goal of the celebration is to promote Bhutanese culture and values to their new home in America.

Holiday hours are in effect at Great Bear Recreation Park.  You can ski and snowboard from 9 am to 10 pm today.   Great Bear is located on East Rice Street, 2-miles east of Interstate 229.

The Stampede hockey team takes on the Fargo Force at the Sioux Falls Arena.  They'll drop the puck at 6:05 pm.  Tickets start at $8.50.
