More than 75 local and national vendors will feature their products during the Wedding Showcase at the Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa. The showcase includes a bridal fashion show, cash and door prizes plus a Dig for Diamonds will all proceeds benefiting Paint the Night Pink. The showcase runs from noon to 4 pm.
The second weekend of the Fall Parade of Homes features nearly 70 newly built homes in the Sioux Falls area. The homes are on display from 1-5 pm today. Mondays hours are from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. It costs $5 to see the Feature Home. All other homes are free to see.
Paintings, sculptures, beadwork, jewelry and quilts are on sale at the Northern Plains Indian Art Market at the Ramkota Hotel Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls. The market goes from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $5, free for kids under 12.
Celebrating Robert L. Penn is an exhibition of works by this leading Native American artist at the Washington Pavilion. The exhibition goes from noon to 5 pm in the Visual Arts Center.
Films playing at the pavilion's Wells Fargo CineDome include Walking the T. rex: The Story of Sue, Titans of the Ice Age and Turbo.
New Hollywood releases playing at a theater near you include Battle of the Year, rated PG-13 and Prisoners, rated R.
Enjoy a day of music during the South Dakota Old Time Fiddle Contest & Jamboree at the Kiwanis 4-H Ice Arena in Yankton. Today's events include a gospel sing at 10:30 am and a National Invitational Final at 1:30 pm. Admission is $5.
St. Anthony's Church in Hoven, SD is hosting a Fall Bazaar. They'll serve a Swiss steak dinner from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for kids, free for ages 5 and under.
St. Columba Church in Irene, SD is hosting a Barbeque Supper from 4-7 pm. The evening also includes a country store and a raffle. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for kids and free for kids under five.
Actor Peter Story performs Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus Live a the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. The curtain rises at 7 pm. Tickets are $40.
Take a free tour of the restored R.F. Pettigrew home in Sioux Falls. Guided tours are every half-hour, from noon to 5 pm. The Pettigrew Home & Museum are located at 8th & Duluth.
Make your way through 11-acres of paths carved out at the Heartland Corn Maze. Hours are noon to 5 pm. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for kids, free for ages 4 and under. The corn maze is located on Highway 11, south of Harrisburg. It's open weekends through October 20th.
The Apple Festival at Country Apple Orchard includes hayrides and tractor wagon rides to the orchards for people to pick their own apples from noon to 5 pm. Other activities include kids entertainer Phil Baker, a children's barn, face painting and homemade apple pies. Country Apple Orchard is located 5 miles south of Sioux Falls on Minnesota Avenue.
