Sunday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

      Hilltop United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls is hosting a Silent Auction and Lenten Craft Fair to raise money for an upcoming mission trip to Kentucky.
     The silent auction goes from 9 am to 6:30 pm and includes gift certificates, gift baskets and baked goods.
     The craft fair goes from 3-5 pm.
     Hilltop United Methodist is located at East 20th and South Bahnson.

     The Grammy award-winning Beatles tribute band Liverpool Legends performs today at the city auditorium in Kadoka.
     The performance is at 3 pm.
     Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, free for kids 5 and under.

     Join Belle Fourche Purple Pride and wear green during the Leapin' Leprechaun 5K Fun Run/Walk.
     The run begins at 3:17 pm at Hermann Park in Belle Fourche.
     Cash prizes will be awarded.
     Belle Fourche Purple Pride is a group that raises funds for educational and athletic programs for the Belle Fourche School District.

     The Lawn & Garden Show wraps up today at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
     The hours are from 11 am to 5 pm.
     Admission is $7, free for kids 5 and under.

     The South Dakota Horse Fair at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds includes a Cowboy Church Service at 9 am.
     Other events at the Expo Building include a trade show, western trail class and roping plus youth activities.
     The gates open at 8:30 am.
     Admission is $10 a carload.

     The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra performs at First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls as part of its Stained Glass Series.
     The concert is at 2:30 pm.
     Tickets start at $10.
     First Presbyterian is located at 2300 S. West Avenue.

     A National Park Service archeologist will discuss how a band of Ojibwe Native Americans lived in what is now Minnesota's Voyager's National Park.
     The free talk is part of the Third Sunday Archeology Program at Augustana College.
     It starts at 2 pm in the Gilbert Science Center Auditorium.


     Renner American Legion Post 307 is serving a St. Patrick's Day Pancake Breakfast from 8 am to 1 pm at the Renner Legion Hall.
     Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for kids, free for children 5 and under.
   

     Enjoy an afternoon of classic and contemporary country music at The Dakota Opry.
     The music goes from 2-4 pm at the VFW on South Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls.
     Admission is $10 for adults, free for kids 10 and under.

     Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church is hosting a Talent-No-Talent Show & Silent Auction beginning at 4 pm.
     Admission is free.    
     The silent auction will help fund a trip for high schoolers to a national youth gathering in July.
     Blessed Redeemer is located at 705 S. Sioux Boulevard in Brandon.

     A Zumbathon will be held at the Tea Area High School from 2-4 pm to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
     2 Sisters ~1 Cure is in honor of two little girls, Rylie and Alexa Rothenberger, who have been diagnosed with the disease.
     The entrance fee is $15.

     The University of South Dakota is hosting its 41st annual Wacipi at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
     This year's theme is "Rising Above-Expectations for Generations," and includes a Grand Entry at 1 pm.
