Sunday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     An Old-Fashioned Hymn Sing takes place at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church.
     The Men's Ensemble is hosting the free hymn sing starting at 6:30 pm.
     There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following the singing.
     Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church is located at 49th & Bahnson.

     People can drop by any of the five Sioux Falls community centers to play basketball and volleyball.
     The open gyms run from 1-5 pm at Kuehn, Kenny Anderson, Morningside, MariCar and Oyate Community Centers.
     No organized team play is allowed.

     The Stampede hockey team takes on the Des Moines Buccaneers at the Sioux Falls Arena.    
     They'll drop the puck at 5:05 pm.
     Tickets start at $8.
     Bring along your skates for a Skate Party with the Stampede players after the game.

     You can discard your Christmas tree for free at the city drop-off site located on North Lyon Boulevard, west of the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds
     Today's hours are from noon to 5 pm.
     Make sure to remove all accessories from the tree including lights, ornaments, decorations and stands.
     The drop drop-off is open through January 19th.
     It's closed New Year's Day.

     Christmas is still shining brightly at the Western Mall.
     Christmas at the Western Mall is a holiday light display set to music.
     The hours are from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the Western Mall in Sioux Falls.
     Your donations will go to Make-A-Wish South Dakota.
     The display runs nightly through New Year's Day.

     Sioux Falls outdoor skate rinks are open for the season.
     The rinks are located at Tuthill, Campus, McKennan, Memorial, Sherman and Frank Olson Parks from 1-8 pm today.
     Skate rentals range from $1 to $3, depending on age.

     Holiday hours are in effect at Great Bear Recreation Park.
     You can hit the slopes from 9 am to 10 pm.
     Great Bear is located between Sioux Falls and Brandon on East Rice Street.

     Take a stroll through Falls Park to check out all the holiday lights on display.
     Winter Wonderland runs nightly through January 6th.
