Sunday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls presents The Streets of Bethlehem from 1-4 pm.
     Admission is free, but you're asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Sioux Falls Pantry and Zion Lutheran's Food Pantry.
     Author Angie Barth will be on hand to sign copies of her book, Snappy the Squirrel.
     Refreshments will also be served.
     Zion Lutheran is located at 22nd & Spring.

     First United Methodist Church is hosting a Live Nativity and Streets of Bethlehem from 5-7 pm.
     You can also visit different shops at the Marketplace.
     Hot drinks and treats will be served in the Round Table Dining Hall.
     First United Methodist is located at 401 S. Spring in Sioux Falls.

     West Nidaros Lutheran Church in Crooks is hosting a Christmas Concert and Silent Auction.
     Bids for the auction begin at 5:30 pm.
     The concert, featuring The Great Pretenders, begins at 7 pm.

     First Lutheran Church holds its 40th annual All-Faith German Christmas Service at 4 pm.
     The service includes carols and a sermon in German.
     Coffee and homemade baked goods follow the service.
     First Lutheran is located at 12th and Dakota in downtown Sioux Falls.

     Christmas at the Western Mall is a holiday light display set to music.
     The hours are from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at the Western Mall in Sioux Falls.
     Your donations will go to Make-A-Wish South Dakota.
     The display runs nightly through New Year's Day.

     Falls Park has been converted into a Winter Wonderland for the holidays.
     The park will display holiday lights every night through January 6th.
     There are also free trolley rides each Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm.
     The visitors center is open from 10 am to 10 pm weekend.

     Cut your own Christmas trees at Riverview Christmas Tree Farm in Canton.
     You can also visit Santa and see animals in the Nativity stable from noon to 5 pm.
     The farm is hosting daily tree cuttings through December 15th.

     The Singing Boys of Sioux Falls present their Christmas Concert and Tea at East Side Lutheran Church at 3 pm.
     A free will offering will be taken.
     Refreshments and a holiday bake sale follow the concert.
     East Side Lutheran is located at 10th and Cliff in Sioux Falls.

     Enjoy Christmas musical classics during the Holiday Jam with the Hegg Brothers at the Harrisburg Performing Arts Center.
     The jam begins at 4 pm.
     Tickets are $20.

     Learn how to Swing Dance for free at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Sioux Falls.
     Beginning lessons will be held from 1-1:30 pm with open dancing from 1:30 to 4 pm.
     No partners are needed and all ages are welcome.

     Join other volunteers to create warm afghans for families in-need.
     Warm Up Sioux Falls gets underway at 1 pm at Athena Fibers, located at 3915 S. Hawthorne.

     The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is hosting a Howliday Open House from 11 am to 5 pm.
     You can buy gifts, crafts and baked treats with all proceeds benefiting shelter animals.
     The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is located at 3720 E. Benson Road.

     The Brandon Lutheran Church chancel choir presents their annual Christmas Cantata, O Holy Night at 4:30 pm.
     The high school youth will serve a soup and sandwich meal following the program.
     Brandon Lutheran is located at 600 East Holly Boulevard.
