Sunday Boredom Busters

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

     It's Kids Day at the Sioux Falls Jaycees Haunted House.
     The Haunted House is open from 1-3 pm in the Fine Arts Building on the south side of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
     Admission is $8, $6 with a canned good donation.
     The Haunted House is open most days through October 31st.     

     Kids can put on their costumes and head to the Great Plains Zoo for an evening of Halloween fun with the animals.
     Hand-caved Jack-o-Lanterns light the way for the kids to stroll through the zoo grounds picking up treats from 3:30 to 7 pm.
     Admission is $5 for zoo members, $6 for non-members.

     Hundreds of the nation's finest artists and crafters are displaying and selling their wares at the Autumn Festival.
     It's at the Sioux Falls Convention Center from 10 am to 5 pm.
     Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors.  

     Set your sites on Women's Day at the Range at the Garretson Gun Club.
     Check in begins at 11 am with shooting wrapping up at 4 pm and a social hour to follow.
     The cost is $50 and includes learning proper shooting techniques for handguns, rifles, shotgun and archery.
     Proceeds benefit the Outdoor Adventure Foundation and Keeping Kids in the Outdoors Fund.

     The national touring company of "VeggieTales Live" performs twice at O'Gorman High School.
     The shows are at 2 & 6 pm.
     Tickets start at $10, a $25 Artist Circle includes reserved seating and a photo op with the Veggies following the concert.
     Children 1 and under are free.

     The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
     The performance is at 2 pm at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls.
     Tickets are $18.

     First Presbyterian Church in Huron is hosting a Fall Supper to raise money for recent roof repairs and a new sound system.
     They'll be serving turkey and all the fixings from 4:30 to 7 pm.
     Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for kids, free for children under five.
     There will also be a silent auction and games for the kids.

     St. John's Catholic Church in Ft. Pierre is serving a Fall Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings from 3:30 to 6:30 pm in the Padre Hall.
     Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for kids, free for pre-schoolers.

     It's the final Sunday of the Farmer's Market in Hartford.
     Vendors will sell their produce and baked goods at the Hartford Building Center from 11 am to 2 pm.

     The Augustana Orchestra presents a Halloween Hauncert at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
     The spooky music begins at 3 pm.
     Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
     Our Savior's Lutheran is located at 33rd and Prairie.

     Homestead Orchard near Worthing is hosting a free Chrysanthemum Show.
     Take a relaxing stroll through the greenhouse to see more than 80 varieties of mums from 1-5 pm.

     Zion Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls is hosting a Trunk-n-Treat.
     Car trucks will be decorated and kids can walk the parking lot and get candy from 4 to 5:30 pm.
     Zion Lutheran is located at 22nd & Spring.

     The City of Sioux Falls two leaf and tree branch drop-off sites are open through November 25th.
     They're located on East Chambers Street by the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, and other other site on North Lyon Boulevard, west of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
     Today's hours are from noon to 5 pm.
     It's $2 a carload.
