SIOUX FALLS, SD - Several local events commemorate the 10th anniversary of Nine-Eleven.
Cry Out America includes reflections from retired New York City police lieutenant William Dement, who was a Ground Zero first responder.
The event begins at 2 pm in the International Room of the Holiday Inn City Centre in downtown Sioux Falls.
You can also view Fallen Heroes banners on display from 10 am to 6 pm.
Sioux Falls firefighters and police will hold a moment of silence at noon today at Fire Rescue headquarters at 37th and Minnesota.
343 flags, in honor of each firefighter who died in the Twin Towers attacks, are posted outside the building.
Police and firefighters in Tea are hosting a 9/11 Memorial Service on the front lawn of the Tea Fire Station.
The service gets underway at 7 pm.
The Sioux Falls VA is hosting a 9/11 ceremony beginning at noon.
The event will recognize active-duty military members, veterans as well as first-responders.
Celebrating the American Spirit is a 9/11 Memorial Park Dedication in downtown Marshall, MN.
Activities get underway at 7:30 am with a morning prayer.
A parade down Main Street begins at 11:45 am.
A concert will be held at 6:30 pm.
A candlelight vigil-lighting of the beam takes place at 8:30 pm, followed by fireworks.
Huset's Speedway in Brandon is hosting a Patriot Day program prior to the season's final night of racing.
The program begins at 5 pm with racing to follow.
Military members and their families get in free.
The group, Up With People, performs A Song for the World during a concert today at the Elmen Center on the campus of Augustana College.
The performance is at 3 pm.
Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for students and seniors.
Homesteader Day Harvest Festival is taking place at the Beaver Creek Nature Area in Brandon.
The free festival goes from 1-4 pm and includes old-time farming and threshing, cooking, butter-making, old -time fiddlers and a Civil War reenactment.
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sioux Falls is hosting its 90th Anniversary Celebration from 1-3 pm.
The celebration includes tours, kids' inflatables, plus free cake and ice cream.
Emmanuel Baptist Church is located at 1600 East 12th Street.
St. George Catholic Church in Scotland is hosting its annual Fall Supper from 4-7 pm.
Broasted chicken and baked ham are on the menu.
The supper also includes raffle drawings.
The cost is $7.50 for adults, $3.75 for kids 3-10.
