SIOUX FALLS, SD -
No matter what you are doing this weekend or who you are rooting for, one thing is certain, everyone is cheering on the new shuttle service.
"We've been waiting about ten minutes, the shuttles are coming periodically and then they are sending more shuttles on their way," Mikaila Worden said.
With both the Summit League Tournament kicking off and the Sioux Falls Home Show winding down, people from all over descend on Sioux Falls. And with the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center taking up space next to the arena, parking was a concern for many.
"Normally we park at the Convention Center, but with the Home Show going on too they are trying to spread the parking," Worden said.
There is parking on the Arena and Convention Center sight, but when those lots got full people were parking as far as Elmwood Golf Course and McCart Fields. Two shuttle buses were available to pick people up from those lots and take them directly to the arena doors.
"Waiting for the bus to go to the Summit Tournament," John Small said. "It's all in timing. If you get here right when the bus gets here."
Officials with the Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center say this is the first time they have done the shuttle service and it has been a success.
"It's great to have an event that's this successful that we can do this in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is really a nice benefit, especially on a day like today," Denny Everson said.
The free shuttle service has stopped running for Saturday and will pick it up again Sunday at 10 a.m.
