Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Files Trademark Lawsuit

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Files Trademark Lawsuit
STURGIS, SD -

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc. says it has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against a Georgia-based motorcycle clothing company.

The federal suit accuses Kent Mortimer and Renegade Classics of selling apparel with "Sturgis Rally Week" on the products. The plaintiffs say that deprives the city and citizens of Sturgis royalties due from officially licensed merchandise.

The Renegade Classics website lists 26 retail outlets in 13 states.

Mortimer could not be reached for comment.
