A western South Dakota alcohol and drug addiction treatment center plans to expand.
The director of the Northern Hills Alcohol and Drug Services center in Spearfish says the project is possible because of a $425,000 foundation grant.
Mary Wood-Fossen says the center plans to buy and renovate a former elementary school. She says the added space will allow the center to house its inpatient and outpatient treatment programs in one place.
The project is expected to cost $1.1 million.
