Gusty winds, blowing snow and below freezing temperatures have blanketed western South Dakota.
Up to six inches of snow accumulated Friday in the Northern Black Hills.
Winter weather advisories remain in effect for most of western South Dakota on Saturday. In North Dakota, wind chill advisories are in effect for western North Dakota while a blizzard warning covers the northeastern portion of the state.
Many schools and events were cancelled Friday in both Dakotas. Mount Rushmore National Memorial closed at 11 a.m. Friday and will have a two-hour late start Saturday, opening at 10 a.m.
