An overnight storm damaged property in portions on northeast South Dakota, with Eureka being one of the harder hit areas.
Winds estimated at 70 to 80 miles per hour arrived in the small town early Monday morning. McPherson County Sheriff Dave Ackerman says the wind continued in Eureka for 30 to 45 minutes.
It caused damage to homes, outbuildings, trees, vehicles and other property. It damaged a fence and knocked over lights at a city ballpark.
Ackerman says people in the country sustained damage as well. But no one reported any injuries to his office.
